The saga continues for presenter and musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye as his court case sees yet another delay. Jub Jub made a brief appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court today, rocking a pantsula military vibe, complete with white sneakers and a green two-piece suit, leaving his white vest peeking out as a fashion statement.
Accompanied by a crew consisting of his two uncles, a cousin, and two bouncers, Jub Jub’s defense Advocate Terrence Baloyi cited the need to send representations to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for the postponement. “Your worship, we’ve requested a postponement to allow us to submit our representations to the DPP. We kindly request the next court date to be scheduled for April,” explained Baloyi.
The case had previously been delayed for the defense to make submissions to the state for a way forward. Jub Jub faces a laundry list of charges, including multiple counts of rape, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and several counts of kidnapping, all stemming from allegations by three well-known celebrities who were romantically involved with him in the past.
State Prosecutor Agnes Bezuidenhout didn’t oppose the delay, noting that the investigation had long been completed and all relevant information had been provided to the defense.
The courtroom drama will resume in early April.
