Nigerian singer Waje has expressed her discomfort with being labeled as an “underrated artist.”
Despite her considerable talent and contributions to the music industry, fans, particularly on social media, have been tagging her as “underrated,” believing she deserves more recognition.
However, speaking on the latest episode of the Secrets Behind the Scenes podcast, Waje clarified that she does not appreciate being referred to as underrated. She explained that the term “underrated” is not a flattering compliment as some may perceive it to be.
She stated, “I do not like being addressed as an underrated artist. Words hold power. While some may embrace it and interpret it positively, saying, ‘People recognize my worth and that’s why they label me as such,’ your definition of success lies within yourself and your mindset.”
