Maskandi singer Mthandeni Manqele, popularly known as iGcokama Elisha, found himself at the center of controversy yet again. This time, it was at the Mother of All Maskandi Festival event at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, where he got into a heated altercation with MC and Ukhozi FM presenter Zimiphi “Zimdollar” Biyela.
In a video circulating online, a bold Zimdollar is seen snatching the microphone from Mthandeni just as he’s about to start performing, bluntly telling him to ‘voets*k!’. Zimdollar later explained the situation, stating that Mthandeni arrived late and missed his allocated performance slot among the top 30 artists scheduled for the competition.
According to Zimdollar, despite being informed that there was no more time for him to perform, Mthandeni disregarded this and attempted to take the stage anyway. Refusing to tolerate tardiness, Zimdollar swiftly intervened to maintain the event’s schedule and respect for fellow artists and attendees.
Zimdollar emphasized that punctuality is non-negotiable in her role as an MC, highlighting the importance of respecting everyone involved in organizing and attending the event. Despite the drama, Mthandeni declined to comment on the matter, opting to end the conversation abruptly with the media.
