Are you dreaming of becoming the next Miss South Africa? To stand out from the crowd, you’ll want to soak up all the guidance you can get. The Miss South Africa Organization just announced that the hunt for Miss SA 2024 is officially on.
Just one tweak to this year’s rules and requirements as said by the Miss South Africa Organization.
“Finalists from the preceding year may not enter the following year. This means that a finalist from 2023 may only enter the competition again in 2025.”
And guess what? Married women and those with children are welcome to enter too. How cool? You must be at least 20 years old and under 30 years old as of August 13, 2024. Pro tip: You can turn 30 during your reign year (starting August 2024).
Forget about height or weight specifications. “As someone who entered the pageant twice, the most important factor is to know yourself well, both emotionally and mentally,” shares Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert.
Natasha emphasizes the importance of self-awareness. Knowing your strengths, weaknesses, and how you handle pressure, negativity, or confrontation.
“It is something they must be aware of and work at it – they can’t just focus on their wardrobe or advocacy. Self-awareness is critical,” she says.
Lastly, know yourself inside and out. “When a judge asks a personal question, are you in a place to explain your qualities, values, and morals? It’s up to you to showcase yourself.”
Entries for this prestigious beauty pageant opened bright and early Thursday morning and will remain open until Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 18:00. Applying is a breeze for aspiring beauty queens. Simply hop onto the Miss SA app (find it on the ENTER NOW page) or head to www.misssa.co.za. Once there, you’ll tackle a few questions, upload your entry pictures (think one head and shoulders shot and one full-body image), and connect them to your entry video.
Don’t forget to share your entry video on social media using #MissSA2024 and tag Miss South Africa and Crown Chasers across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
