On the 28th of September, Supersport Park Stadium in Centurion will be filled with the soulful sounds of praise and worship as radio icon Tbo Touch, will be hosting the highly anticipated 3rd Replenishment Concert.
This event, now in its third year, is far from just another gig for the 43-year-old broadcasting legend. For Tbo Touch, the Replenishment Concert is a deeply personal project, rooted in his lifelong spiritual journey. With a family legacy steeped in faith, he views this concert as an extension of the ministry he shares through his popular Metro FM afternoon drive show, “The TouchDown,” particularly during the “Replenishment Hour” on Mondays.
“Coming from a lineage where God has always been the centre, I’m continuing a tradition of spiritual piety,” Tbo Touch shares. “The Replenishment Hour is designed to uplift those who feel judged or isolated by traditional churches. It’s a time to remind them of their worth and potential, regardless of past struggles.”
Tbo Touch emphasizes the importance of Mondays as a fresh start, a day to set positive intentions for the week ahead. “Monday is a powerful day. It’s when you can declare your goals and handle the week with a positive mindset,” he explains.
Over the past three years, the Replenishment Concert has attracted a diverse and notable audience, including King Misuzulu Zulu of the Zulu Nation. The event boasts an impressive line-up of praise and worship performances, featuring international speakers like Jamaican minister and Pentecostal bishop Noel Jones, and musician and pastor Kabelo “Bouga Luv” Mabalane as a guest speaker.
This year’s headline act is the legendary gospel singer Dr. Rebecca Malope, who will receive a special honour during the concert. “It’s important to acknowledge and celebrate icons like Dr. Malope while we have the chance,” Tbo Touch says. “Her story deserves to be told accurately and with reverence.”
With two decades of experience in organizing concerts, Tbo Touch ensures that the Replenishment Concert maintains high standards, regardless of the performers. “The concert itself is an entity independent of who’s performing. People come for the experience, much like Coachella, where the lineup is secondary,” he notes.
The Replenishment Concert has evolved into a holistic experience, complete with a fashion element showcasing local designers. Tbo Touch envisions an event where attendees can enjoy spiritual and entertainment experiences without judgment. “Isn’t it wonderful to feel the spirit in a place where you’re also entertained, without anyone judging you?” he muses.
Families are welcome, with a dedicated kiddies section offering Bible games and spiritual activities led by trained au pairs. “Kids leave spiritually enriched, just like their parents, thanks to our diligent au pairs,” Tbo Touch adds.
Hosted by gospel singer Mmatema and popular MC Sipho “Alphi” Mkhwanazi, the Replenishment Concert supports three Ministries each year, providing them with music systems and drum kits. This event is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of faith, community, and spiritual rejuvenation.
