Jonathan Majors found himself back in the spotlight recently after an emotional clip of his acceptance speech at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards went viral.
Majors was honoured with the Perseverance Award at the event a few months ago, a recognition that initially raised eyebrows due to the actor’s ongoing assault allegations. But as the dust settled, the moment was reignited when the touching footage made its rounds on social media.
In the video, Majors takes the stage and, with tears in his eyes, pours his heart out to his girlfriend, Meagan Good, who has stood by him through thick and thin. “I love you. I love you beyond all limit with all my strength. With all my heart I love you,” Majors expressed, his voice breaking. “I’m supposed to be the toughest jawn, but you’ve carried me through so many nights. I love you.”
The camera then shifts to Good, seated in the audience, visibly moved as she wipes away tears. The emotional intensity of the moment is softened when Majors closes his speech with an impromptu rendition of Chaka Khan’s classic hit “Through the Fire,” adding a touch of humour to the heartfelt scene.
This moment wasn’t the first time the event made waves. When it originally took place in June, social media was abuzz, particularly after Majors was presented the award by renowned life coach and inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant. The actor’s raw emotion was on full display as he cried into Vanzant’s embrace before delivering his speech.
