In the wake of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi’s recent divorce announcement, Podcast and Chill host Macgyver Mukwevho, aka MacG is starting again with his bold and controversial statements.
With Rachel and Siya Kolisi still trending over their divorce and people speculating what could’ve happened in the relationship for it to end, MacG weighed and suggested that the rugby icon might deserve some “slack.”
On Monday, October 29, MacG and co-host Sol Phenduka tackled the topic in their typical no-holds-barred style, speculating on what might have led to the high-profile breakup.
Sol kicked off the conversation with, “What would drive a woman to the point of divorce? There are a few things, and cheating is one of them. Some women have a tolerance for it until it’s no longer tolerable.”
MacG’s response was a classic on: “If there’s one guy in this country who’s allowed to cheat, it’s Siya Kolisi. He’s a two-time world champion; come on! Cut him some slack!”
MacG didn’t stop there, suggesting that Kolisi’s alleged infidelity might not just be a rumor. He speculated, “I think it must be something big, like he got another girl pregnant or something. This is a white girl… they are not here for that!”
Adding to the drama, Kolisi’s own autobiography, Rise, has revealed some of his romantic missteps. In the book, Siya recalls meeting Rachel in 2012. At the time, he was candid about his lifestyle: “I was young, still 20, and full of it. I loved rugby, I loved drinking, and I loved girls.”
Reflecting on his connection with Rachel, Siya admits she stood out because she “couldn’t have cared less” about his star status. This quality, he writes, drew him in amidst a sea of attention from rugby fans.
