The highly anticipated Kasi Worship Concert returns to Moretele Park, Mamelodi, on the 30th of November, with a renewed mission: uniting the community against the destructive forces of drug cartels and criminal gangs through worship.
Under the theme “Step into Service,” this year’s concert aims to inspire the Mamelodi community to take collective action against social challenges, using the power of music, prayer, and community service. “The heart of this year’s concert is about fostering hope, healing, and transformation within Mamelodi,” said the event organizers. “We believe that through worship, we can empower individuals and local churches to take an active role in addressing the challenges of poverty and drug addiction in our communities.”
This year’s concert promises to be a deeply personal and communal act of worship, headlined by renowned gospel artist J Ross. His unique blend of contemporary and African gospel sounds will set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Alongside J Ross, local choirs from Mamelodi will bring their powerful voices, highlighting the rich heritage of African worship. Special collaborations between J Ross and these local choirs will create a unique fusion of modern and traditional worship, culminating in a powerful live prayer and worship segment.
“We want everyone to experience worship as a time to connect with God and each other,” the organizers added. “This is more than just a concert—it’s a movement. Our goal is for attendees to leave spiritually refreshed and motivated to step into service for their communities.”
What sets this year’s Kasi Worship Concert apart is its focus on addressing Mamelodi’s pressing social issues. Alongside the worship experience, attendees will be provided with resources and information on how they can get involved in local community service initiatives, including efforts to combat poverty and drug addiction. The event’s emphasis on community engagement is central to its vision of creating lasting change.
The concert is expected to attract up to 10,000 people, with tickets priced affordably at R125 and available through iTickets. The event is targeting families, young people, and churchgoers across Mamelodi and the surrounding townships. Local churches and youth groups have been actively involved in promoting the event, with early bird promotions and group discounts aimed at ensuring broad community participation.
With its focus on uniting the community against drug cartels and addressing poverty, the Kasi Worship Concert is expected to draw significant media attention. The theme “Step into Service” resonates deeply with local civic leaders and activists, making this event more than just a musical gathering, but a significant social movement. Media outlets such as Impact Radio, City Gates, and TBN Africa will cover the event, amplifying its message of unity and transformation across Tshwane.
