Singer and actress Halle Bailey recently aired her frustrations online after her ex, rapper and YouTuber DDG, joined a high-energy livestream with their baby son, Halo, without her knowledge or consent. The rapper made the surprise appearance with Halo on popular streamer Kai Cenat’s broadcast, sparking both support and criticism across social media.
Bailey, who was reportedly out of town and navigating the emotional ups and downs of postpartum life, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share her disappointment. “Hi everyone. Just so you know, I am out of town and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn’t told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn’t notified, especially when I am out of town,” she wrote.
Following her statement, Bailey deactivated her social media accounts, leaving fans speculating about how deeply this incident has affected her.
The co-parenting clash set social media ablaze with mixed reactions. Some fans fiercely backed Bailey, insisting that consent is key when it comes to decisions involving their child. One supporter tweeted, “I don’t care what people are saying. Halle, YOU ARE NOT WRONG. There should never be a situation in any co-parenting relationship where one parent doesn’t know where or what the other parent is doing with your child.”
Others, however, took a different view on the dynamics of co-parenting. “Baby mamas always talking about what they don’t ‘approve of’ when the baby is with the dad. Nobody needs your permission, lady,” posted another user, adding to the lively debate.
The streamer at the centre of it all, Kai Cenat, is known for his lively broadcasts and high-profile guests, and DDG’s unexpected appearance with Halo brought even more attention to the show.
Bailey and DDG officially ended their relationship in October after dating since 2022. Though they didn’t share details of the split, they confirmed their commitment to co-parenting. Bailey, known for her role as Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid and as one-half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, has been balancing her blossoming career with the responsibilities of motherhood.
