Alabama Barker faces a health scare from Nicotine Withdrawal

At just 19 years old, Alabama Barker, daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, is already making waves in the music world with her rap career. But recent events have shown that the path to stardom isn’t always smooth,  especially when health comes into play.

In a dramatic turn of events, Alabama faced a medical scare that landed her in the hospital. The young artist had decided to ditch vaping, a habit she had picked up, after receiving some stern advice from music industry professionals. They warned her that vaping could jeopardize her most valuable instrument: her voice.

Determined to protect her craft, Alabama quit vaping cold turkey about a month ago. While her intentions were admirable, the abrupt cessation had unforeseen consequences. One day, while alone, Alabama began to feel unwell and overwhelmed by a sense of panic. Fearing the worst, she called 911.

Paramedics arrived and took her to a Los Angeles-area hospital, where doctors quickly identified the root of the problem: nicotine withdrawal. Going cold turkey, as it turns out, can be a shock to the system, and Alabama’s body was struggling to adjust to the sudden absence of nicotine.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges that come with breaking free from addiction — even one as seemingly commonplace as vaping. Experts often recommend gradually reducing nicotine intake to mitigate withdrawal symptoms, rather than quitting abruptly.

Despite the scare, Alabama seems to be bouncing back. Earlier this month, she released the music video for her single “Vogue,” a stylish production that features none other than her stepmom, Kourtney Kardashian.
