Visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite artist, with the most popular artist receiving the public vote prize of US$2,000.

Online votes will also contribute to the final tally.

Caroline Greyling, Director of the Norval Foundation Museum, expressed excitement about the diverse group of finalists: “We’re thrilled to welcome such an impressive range of artists to the fourth edition of the Norval Sovereign African Art Prize.

“Over the years, the prize has seen the participation of incredible artists from around the continent, and the 2025 year is no different, which includes 29 artists from 18 African countries,” Greyling said.

“This competition is dedicated to showcasing Africa’s incredible artistic talent, and we believe the 2025 edition will continue that legacy.”
