Rapper and producer Yanga Chief is on fire right now, and he’s not holding back his excitement.
Yanga took to social media today to drop some major news: his track What If (Mngani) from his latest album, Lord Faku: The Life Of A Dyan, has just claimed the number one spot across all genres in South Africa.
That’s right – the song everyone’s been vibing to is officially the top track in the country. And if that wasn’t enough, he also shared the his new release has already hit number one for SA Hip Hop Song and Hip Hop Album in SA, and is sitting pretty at number two for Album (all genres).
In his heartfelt post, Yanga Chief couldn’t contain his gratitude, saying, “Andinawo amazwi, but what y’all are doing for me is beyond anything I expected.”
One can almost feel the energy as he reflected on the journey, remembering how he once prayed for moments like this. He also gave a nod to the grind of being an independent artist, acknowledging that while it’s not always easy, moments like this make it all worth it.
His message to the fans? Straight from the heart: “Thank you.” Simple, but powerful.
