Shakira’s fans were left heartbroken as the singer revealed she’s been hospitalised due to an abdominal issue, forcing her to postpone her highly anticipated concert in Peru.

The 48-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Sunday to share the unexpected news, just days before her February 16 show at Estadio Nacional in Lima.

Shakira was taken to the hospital in Peru after experiencing the abdominal issue, which led to the cancellation of her concert. Shakira had been set to perform in Lima for the first time in over a decade.

“I’m sorry to let you all know that last night I had to go to the emergency room for an abdominal issue, and I’m currently hospitalised,” Shakira wrote on Instagram.

“The doctors taking care of me have informed me that I’m not well enough to perform tonight.
