Watch: Kendrick Lamar to Bring Along to Light Up the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Get ready for an electrifying Super Bowl LIX halftime show! Kendrick Lamar is set to take centre stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans this Saturday, February 9th, and he’s bringing along the sensational SZA for an unforgettable performance.

This announcement has set social media ablaze, with fans eagerly anticipating the dynamic duo’s return to the stage together.

Lamar and SZA are no strangers to musical magic. Their collaborative efforts have produced some of the most memorable tracks in recent years. Who could forget All the Stars, the Oscar-nominated hit from Black Panther’s soundtrack, or Doves in the Wind? More recently, SZA contributed to Lamar’s latest album, GNX, lending her voice to standout tracks like Gloria and Luther.

Expressing her enthusiasm for their upcoming performance, SZA shared, “I’m so honoured to be a part of it and I’m so honoured to even know him.” Fans can expect their incredible chemistry to translate into a mesmerizing live experience.

The halftime show isn’t the only treat in store for fans. Lamar and SZA are gearing up for their Grand National Tour, which kicks off on April 19th in Minneapolis and wraps up on June 18th in Washington, D.C. Covering 19 cities across North America, the tour promises an immersive showcase of their collaborative artistry.

Lamar is no rookie when it comes to the Super Bowl stage. This time, he’s taking the lead, cementing his place among Super Bowl headliners. Speaking about this milestone, Lamar stated, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why.”

While Lamar is making his return, this will be SZA’s first-ever Super Bowl halftime performance. Coming off an impressive Grammy season, where she was nominated for two awards and has already amassed four Grammy wins, she’s more than ready to step into the spotlight on one of the world’s biggest stages.

The creative vision for the halftime show will be spearheaded by pgLang, the multi-disciplinary company co-founded by Kendrick Lamar himself. Backed by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, the show is set to deliver a visually and sonically stunning spectacle.

A teaser released by Apple Music has only fuelled excitement, featuring a playful moment where SZA sneaks up behind Lamar and splashes him with water as he walks on a football field.
