Sphamandla Mabonga, the ex-boyfriend of reality star Londie London, has been fatally shot in a violent shootout outside the Solo Restaurant and Nightclub in Sandton.
Mabonga, who had a history of run-ins with the law, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The 29-year-old businessman’s life ended in a very public, very violent way. But, of course, this wasn’t the first time he had caused a stir.
Last year, Mabonga was arrested after allegedly opening fire on bouncers at another nightclub, Tempo, in Sandton. He was out on bail and, it seems, didn’t learn much from his previous run-in with the law.
According to reports, Mabonga was carrying a firearm and attempted to enter the nightclub, despite its strict no-weapons policy. The altercation quickly escalated, with Mabonga’s bodyguards reportedly trading gunfire with the club’s security. Two of Mabonga’s own bodyguards were killed at the scene, and Mabonga himself, along with several others, was rushed to the hospital.
