Fantasy Bra With A R800 Million Surprise
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show saved its biggest moment for a surprise. On 18 October, Kylie Jenner made her runway debut for the brand wearing the return of the Fantasy Bra, the showpiece that had been absent from the show since 2018.
The Return After Eight Years
The 2026 show took place at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, and was billed as a return to the brand's spectacle roots, with lingerie, live performances and the Fantasy Bra back on the runway. The piece was last worn in 2018 by Ella Hosk, which makes this year's appearance the first in eight years.
Reports say Jenner is the first non-Victoria's Secret model to wear the Fantasy Bra. Her debut was kept under wraps until she stepped out, even though the brand had teased the bra's return earlier in the week.
A $50 Million Design
This year's bra was created with jeweller Jacob & Co. and is valued at around R800 million, which Vogue says makes it the most expensive Fantasy Bra yet. At its centre is a 75.54-carat yellow diamond reported to be worth about R300 million, with a fringe of jewels hanging from the band.
What's your hot take on this story?
Jacob & Co. said the design began with a single question about what a Fantasy Bra would be with no fabric at all. Victoria's Secret chief creative officer Adam Selman said he couldn't think of a better person than Jacob Arabo, the jeweller's founder, to design it.
Jenner wore the piece with white angel wings and a sheer mini skirt, walking to Jade Thirlwall's "Angel of My Dreams."
Support From The Front Row
Jenner's boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, and her mother, Kris Jenner, were in the audience along with Corey Gamble. Her sister Kendall Jenner, who has a long history with the brand, did not take part in this year's show. Fans in the comments on Vogue's clip said they were shocked, with one writing that Kylie "put the fantasy back in Fantasy Bra."
Why It Matters
The Fantasy Bra has long been the centrepiece of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and bringing it back with a record price tag and a celebrity surprise signals how the brand wants this new era of the show to be seen. As the show's creative direction leans on spectacle and pop-culture moments, a R800 million piece worn by a first-time runway model delivered exactly that.
