South Africans can relax because Leanne Manas is not going anywhere! The veteran Morning Live presenter has finally addressed rumours claiming she had resigned from the SABC, making it clear that the reports circulating on social media are nothing but fake news.
The speculation gained traction after TikTok accounts allegedly impersonating the broadcaster began sharing claims that she had been forced to leave her long-standing position at the public broadcaster. Some posts even suggested that racial discrimination was behind her supposed departure, leaving viewers questioning what was really happening.
However, Leanne has set the record straight, confirming that she had simply been enjoying a week off and was preparing to return to viewers' screens.
Taking to her official Facebook page, she dismissed the rumours, writing: “I have absolutely NOT resigned from the SABC! I'm very much still part of the public broadcaster and will be back on your screens tomorrow after a beautiful week off".
The fake resignation claims were not the only thing bothering her. Leanne also warned fans about fraudulent TikTok accounts using her name, revealing that she does not even have an active presence on the platform.
“And while I'm at it, every TikTok account claiming to be me is FAKE. I have never posted a single thing on that platform", she added.

The presenter also addressed the misinformation during her return to Morning Live on Monday, 19 October, reassuring viewers that she was still very much part of the team.
The SABC also stepped in to shut down the speculation, confirming that reports about Leanne's alleged resignation were false and urging the public to stop sharing unverified information.
Leanne has been a familiar face on South African television since joining Morning Live in 2004, building a loyal audience over more than two decades in broadcasting.
The incident has once again highlighted how quickly fake news can spread online, especially when accounts impersonating public figures appear convincing enough to fool unsuspecting users.
