The full flavour story is about to unfold. KFC is bringing the drama. And it’s inspired by Korea.
ONE EPISODE BECOMES FOUR. ONE BITE BECOMES ANOTHER
K-dramas are impossible to stop watching. One episode becomes four. One love triangle becomes six. Someone gets slapped. Someone cries in the rain. Suddenly it’s 3 am and you’re emotionally invested in a character you’ve never met.
That’s exactly what great food does. One bite becomes another. Then another. And suddenly there’s a love affair unfolding in your mouth.
On 22 September, KFC launches K-Dunked: a Korean-inspired Dunked chicken range designed to be impossible to stop eating. Sweet. Spicy. Sticky. Crunchy. Every bite comes with twists, tension and a flavour cliffhanger that keeps you coming back for the next episode.
A K-DRAMA FOR YOUR TASTE BUDS
KFA Africa Chief Marketing Officer Hloni Mohope says this is more than a new menu. “It’s a celebration of something South Africans already love: the storytelling, the emotion and the histrionics of K-dramas,” she says.
“The launch campaign takes that same energy; the tears, the longing, the dramatic staring; and redirects it entirely towards K-Dunked chicken.
“It uses actual K-drama footage that has been edited to tell a K-Dunked story and dubbed into South African languages by local voice artists.
What's your hot take on this story?
“Instead of mourning a lost love, the characters are lost for words about K-Dunked. The drama is real. The emotions are raw. The craving is overwhelming.”

“The campaign isn’t appropriating Korean culture; it’s celebrating the global popularity of K-dramas and the bold, complex flavours they’ve inspired,” she says.
By partnering real K-drama stars with South African voice artists and creatives, KFC is bringing two worlds together in a campaign that respects the source material while having genuine fun with it.
The secret is out. The drama is coming. And it tastes incredible.
