Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, popularly known as Sir Wicknell, has died in a helicopter crash in Marondera alongside his wife, Lucy “Lulu” Muteke.
They were among six people who died after the helicopter they were travelling in crashed in the Marondera Rural area, east of Harare, on Wednesday evening.
Zimbabwean authorities confirmed that the aircraft had six people on board and that there were no survivors. Family spokesperson Herbert Chivayo later confirmed to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation that Wicknell and Lucy were among those who died in the tragedy.

According to reports, the helicopter crashed at around 5pm local time in a rural area near Waddilove Mission. Emergency responders were sent to the scene, where the aircraft reportedly caught fire.
Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said authorities were working to formally identify those who died in the crash, with the condition of the victims making the process difficult. The cause of the crash has not yet been established, and investigations are expected to continue.
