It is with great sadness to announce that ”The midnight jammer” Bob Mabena has died.
The entertainment industry and South Africa as whole mourns the death of radio and TV personality Bob Mabena who passed away today following a short illness!
According to his colleagues at Power FM, where he hosted the breakfast show, Mabena (51) was in hospital due to lung problems.
Doctors were apparently draining water from his lungs.
While the story hasn’t fully reached the four corners of South Africa, Twitter users and celebrities have already sent through messages pf condolences to the host’s family.
Bob Mabena is what you may call a radio legend. With a career spanning 31 years, he has hosted some of SA’s biggest radio shows.
In July he released a 12-track music compilation, Jammers House Volume 1, which he says is a legacy project.
