Late Shona Ferguson gets international nomination

Late South African actor and producer, Shona Ferguson has reportedly bagged an international nomination.

Sho has been nominated for the prestigious Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPA) 2021.

He is nominated for Best Lead Lead Drama series, while his film, Kings of Joburg is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series in Africa.

The awards recognize outstanding individuals whose lives have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional achievements.

Shona’s impact in the South African film industry is huge and his death which occurred on the 30th of July 2021, left lots of persons numb and devastated.

His wife, Connie Ferguson, who is an actress has continued his legacy and returned to work.

Though, she expressed her pain and hurt following his passing, as they were set to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

Shona passed away on 31 July due to Covid-19 complications, aged 49.

Kings of Jo’Burg was also nominated by HAPA for Outstanding Drama Series in Africa.

Connie thanked the Fergusons Films team for all their hard work and HAPA for the nominations.

It saddens me that you are not here physically to see it flourish in this way, but I know you’re smiling and celebrating with us! We love you and are eternally grateful for the love and passion you shared with all of us!
