While Chinese Doctors and scientists work effortlessly to try and find a cure for the recent coronavirus outbreak, a lot of sporting events and business seminars which include foreign visits have been halted.
Among the many sporting events put on hold due to the outbreak is the Formula One Chinese Grand Prix.
The FIA and Formula One organizers announced in a statement on Wednesday that they had jointly decided to postpone the race, which was scheduled for 19 April at the Shanghai International Circuit.
“As a result of continued health concerns and with the World Health Organisation declaring the coronavirus as a global health emergency, the FIA and Formula 1 have taken these measures,” the two bodies said.
So far, the coronavirus has claimed more than 1,100 lives and infected more than 44,000 in China after it first emerged in Wuhan late last year.
