Hunt not giving up on catching Chiefs

Amakhosi are sitting on the top of the log with 34 points from 13 games and two clubs who could still stop Chiefs from winning the league will take points off each other at Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight when Wits host Mamelodi Sundowns.

Hunt says their clash against Sundowns won’t be any different from any others as they are both trying to catch up because of their busy schedules in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

“One game at a time. I mean Sundowns have a worse programme than us, they [play] every three days you know, it’s not easy,” he said.

“Every game is big, we’re not even halfway. Some teams are on halfway already, we’ve only got 19 points. It’s a long, long way to go you know.”

The Clever Boys mentor admits Amakhosi have a good lead but insists it’s not over yet and tips his former club SuperSport United to also be contenders for the league title.

“It’s a good lead [for Chiefs]. Two or three teams are competing. SuperSport is obviously not in Africa. Us and Sundowns will be difficult to manage but they’ve got a good lead you know, what have they got 34?

“I mean it’s a good lead already, it’s going to be difficult but nothing’s done yet, we are not even halfway.”
