Mamelodi Sundowns win their fifth straight league title

The kings of Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns have won their fifth league title in a row, confirming their status as the team to beat in South Africa.

When Mamelodi Sundowns drew 0-0 with Cape Town City at Loftus on Wednesday, they clinched their seventh straight DStv Premiership title with four games to go.

City made them sweat as they tried to break through, despite the fact that they would have preferred to earn their title with a win.

After the win, co-coach Rulani Mokwena sent a touching message to their loving fan base.

“Firstly of course congratulations to Masandawana family, congratulations to the supporters and It’s good to wrap up the title with them with us here, so I’m very happy for them.”Mokwena told SuperSport.

The supporters were over the moon with the victory and sang their hearts out when the team won.
