Kelly Khumalo is a true epitome of resilience, and her hard work is paying off as she revealed that her single Empini has been certified gold at The Voice of Africa album listening session.
The song comes from Kelly’s latest album The Voice of Africa. It was released in June and the music video that accompanied it was released in August on YouTube and has since garnered over 700 000 views.
Kelly couldn’t help herself but be in tears, with tears of gratitude. “Wow … he keeps on blessing me,” she said.
The TV personality took to her social media to explain the meaning behind the usage of a black painted body, she wrote, “We are not only rich in culture but in minerals as well, Nigeria produced more than 1.9 Million barrels of oil per day in 2014 ranked as the 11th largest oil producer in the world.”
Somizi was also at the private listening session for Kelly’s album and he sang her praises. “We are celebrating the voice of Africa. Finally, Kelly has a title that suits her voice. Kelly is the voice of Africa, in my books Kelly is the best female vocalist we’ve ever had in our time and that we shall not be apologetic about” – he said
Empini was written and produced by Mondli Ngcobo of Inkanyezi fame. It also talks to the wars she and other people are facing.
