Racing legend Lewis Hamilton and acting icon Brad Pitt are reportedly teaming up on a new movie about Formula One.
While details of the film are being kept under wraps, director Joseph Kosinski, the filmmaker behind Top Gun: Maverick, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter Ehren Kruger are set to take the reins.
According to reports, major studios such as Paramount, MGM, Sony and Universal, as well as streamers like Netflix, Apple, Amazon, and Disney have all put in offers in a bidding war for the project.
Although the plot of the film is currently unknown, it has been confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will be a part of it. In fact, this is not the racer’s first foray into film. He previously produced the movie Cars 2, Cars 3 and Zoolander 2, and appeared in numerous cameo roles on screen.
In addition, Brad Pitt and director Kosinki have for a while been looking to create a movie about racing. The pair nearly worked together on an adaptation of the book Go Like Hell, about the story of Henry Ford and Enzo Ferrari.
