Serena Williams visits baby Archie at Frogmore Cottage

Tennis superstar popped in to see baby Archie at Frogmore Cottage last week, making a flying visit before heading to Paris to compete in the French Open.

Ms Williams, 37, was joined by her husband Alexis Ohanian, 36, and their one-year-old daughter Olympia.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion, posted a picture of herself in a regal state room at the Windsor home of Harry and Meghan, who she is close friends with.

Ms Williams was a guest at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, and reportedly co-hosted her £330,000 baby shower in New York in February.

The tennis star was helped in her hosting duties of the glitzy event by Meghan’s best friend, Canadian fashion stylist Jessica Mulroney, 39, and the Duchess’s sorority sister Genevieve Hillis.

The event was held in the The Mark hotel’s incredible Grand Penthouse Suite, which costs a staggering $75,000 per night, making it the most expensive hotel room in the US.

Star guests included Amal Clooney, American CBS Anchor Gayle King, and actress Abigail Spencer.

Ms Williams and Meghan first met at a Super Bowl party in 2010 and have been friends ever since.

Meghan wrote of their first meeting on her now-closed blog The Tig, and said: ‘Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting but about good old fashioned girly stuff.’

The Duchess also described how the pair ‘hit it off immediately’ and Meghan was pictured at Wimbledon in 2017 to watch the star compete.

Meghan, 38, and Harry, 34, have been inundated with visitors at Frogmore Cottage over the past seven days as they attempt to decide who Archie’s godparents will be.

Favourite for the role of godmother is Meghan’s best friend, Canadian fashion stylist Jessica Mulroney, 39, who jetted in from Canada with daughter Ivy, five, to see the Royal parents and their baby.

Top contender for the role of godfather is Soho House creative director Markus Anderson, 42, who has also been to visit.

He has been described as the ‘second most important man in Meghan’s life’ and arranged her baby shower in April.

Harry’s aunts, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes – Princess Diana’s sisters – have visited, and so have a few of his old chums.

Most notable was Tom Inskip, who reportedly had a cooling of his friendship with Harry after he told him to slow things down with Meghan. He visited with his wife Lara.

Another visitor was Mark Dyer, 53, who has been close to Harry since he was appointed his equerry soon after Diana’s death.

Dyer can take some of the credit for getting Harry and Meghan together – he used to own three West London pubs where they quietly enjoyed their first dates.

Meghan’s mum Doria left Frogmore Cottage last Monday after two weeks helping her with the baby.
