The Best TV Shows Coming Out in South Africa in Winter 2019

Are you already missing Game of ThronesWell, it’s getting colder and it is time to snuggle up under the blankets with a cup of hot chocolate, some snacks, and the best in binge-worthy TV shows.

Some of our old faves are making a return like Stranger Things and Big Little Liesand we have some fab new shows as well like Euphoria with Zendaya.

Here’s our list of shows to look forward to when the weather gets chilly:

Stranger Things Season 3 (Netflix)

Release Date: 4 July 2019

There isn’t much that we know yet but Netflix’s description just said, ‘School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart.’

Big Little Lies Season 2 (M-Net/Showmax)

Release Date: 10 June 2019 (weekly on M-Net and Showmax)

Our faves played by Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz reprise their roles, and they are joined by the amazing Meryl Streep. The women must face the consequences of Perry’s death.

euphoria (M-Net/Showmax)

Release Date: 6 July 2019 (weekly on M-Net and Showmax)

The HBO adaptation of an Israeli TV series and produced by Drake, it stars Zendaya as a drug-addicted 17-year-old named Rue who leads a group of high schoolers as they make their way through of drugs, sex and trauma.  

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 (M-Net/Showmax)

Release Date: 10 June 2019 (Weekly)

The last time we saw June she decided to stay in Gilead to find her daughter, and even though the anxiety might kill us, we’ll get to watch her tackling the patriarchy from the inside again.

Orange is the New Black Season 7 (Netflix)

In the final season of the hit show, we don’t know much but we do know that we are dealing with Piper’s post-prison life as well as how the rest are still adapting on the inside.

Insecure Season 3 (Showmax)

Good Trouble Season 1 (Showmax)
