Fans are left disgruntled and confused over reports that their Uzalo’s favourite actor, Kay Sibiya is leaving the drama series, or maybe not.
The official DRUM website ran a story on Wednesday, 04 January 2017 where the heartthrob revealed that he would not feature in the upcoming season.
“I’ve left Uzalo and I relocated back to Joburg. You cannot be overworked and underpaid,” reports Drum.
Reports also stated that the actor is busy shooting a new soapie, which will air on Mzansi Magic. “I cannot say much about the soapie I’m going to, but I look forward to the change of scenery – it’s going to be interesting,’’ he said.
However, fans were startled and confused when another report followed afterwards, which claimed that the actor denied any claims of exiting the drama series!
Speaking to TshisaLIVE on Thursday, Kay confirmed that he will be absent from Uzalo for a while, but said that he is still very much a part of the production.
"I'm not leaving the show, the issue is a logistical one. I've decided to move to Johannesburg to further my personal interests but the show requires that its cast film in KwaZulu-Natal. That means that my character will be off-screen for a short time while we discuss whether I can film in Johannesburg," Kay said.
We definitely hope the rumours are not true, it would be a shame to see ‘’Pastor Ayanda Mdletshe’’ exit Uzalo at such an exciting time for his character.
