Somizi Mhlongo and Bonang Matheba have been put under the spotlight again, this time around by entertainment writer Phil Mphela, who believes that if it wasn’t for queen B, SomGaga would not have been the big star that he is today.
Although the friendship is over, entertainment writer Phil Mphela believes that Somizi benefited from being friends with B. In an interview on RGB, when asked if their friendship was real or not, Phil said: “There were some elements of benefit within the relationship. Love her or hate her, had it not been for Bonang, Somizi’s rise would not have come at the time that it did, it came simply because of the glitter that was falling from Bonang.”

However, Somizi, who has been in the entertainment industry for more than two decades, has a contradictive statement towards Phl’s words.
