Many of us can only dream of marrying our celebrity crush, but a few lucky people out there actually have. And while saying “I do” with your idol might seem like a fairy tale greater than Beauty and The Beast, the fan-celebrity romance doesn’t always end in a happily ever after. Whether they met on set or a mutual friend was kind enough to set them up, keep reading to see how each and every one of their fan-ry tales panned out.
ADAM AND JACKIE SANDLER
Jackie Titone was an actress and model looking for her big break when she was cast in Big Daddy alongside one of her favourite actors, Adam Sandler. The two shared mutual friends, and they began dating soon after bonding on the set of the movie. They tied the knot in 2003 and share two daughters, Sadie and Sunny.
KANYE WEST AND KIM KARDASHIAN
While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West might be on Hollywood’s most famous couple list, it took them a while to get there. Kanye was a huge fan of Kim for years after seeing her in a photo with Paris Hilton in the early 2000s, but there was always something keeping them apart (Kim’s second husband, Kris Humphries, for the most part). Kanye was so smitten that he bought his first cell phone because he felt he had to “speak to her or something.” They got hitched in a lavish Italian wedding in May 2014 and are parents to their two kids, North and Saint.
NICOLAS CAGE AND ALICE KIM
In 2004, the Ghost Rider actor crossed paths with fan Alice Kim when he ate at Los Angeles restaurant Kabuki, where she worked as a waitress. They tied the knot two months later in order for her to travel with him to South Africa to film Lord of War but divorced after 11 years together in 2016. They share a son, Kal-El (yes, named after Superman).
STEVE AND MARJORIE HARVEY
When Steve Harvey cracked a joke during a 1990 comedy set about marrying a woman in the audience one day, he never realized it would actually come true. He began dating Marjorie Bridges-Woods shortly after calling her out at this show, but they broke up because of the stress long distance put on their relationship. After reconnecting with her later in life, he made good on his promise when they finally married in 2007.
WIZ KHALIFA AND AMBER ROSE
Before Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose got married in 2013 or even started dating, Wiz couldn’t hide how hard he was crushing on the model. “Initially we met through Twitter,” Amber explained to Us Weekly. “He did an interview about me and the guy who interviewed him asked, ‘If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?’ He said ‘Amber Rose,’ and then I hit him on Twitter, and I said, ‘That’s really cute’ and we fell in love!” She filed for divorce in 2014, but the former couple, who share son Sebastian, were recently photographed kissing on the red carpet.
So we guess if we keep trying on our celebrity crushes, we might just end up walking down the aisle in no time.
