On Monday night, Vodacom customers’ data and airtime was disappearing at an alarming rate. The subscribers went into panic mode and took it to Twitter to air their grievances with a new hashtag.
#VodacomStoleMyData is the new hashtag that resurrected the “Data Must Fall” online protest that Touch Central CEO Tbo Touch and Cliff Central founder Gareth Cliff addressed in Parliament a year ago.
This followed the former Metro FM DJ’s call for South African mobile networks to decrease the prices of their data.
Joining the lot in airing their disappointments to SA’s ‘’leading’’ network, Boity Thulo didn’t hold back in giving Vodacom a piece of her mind.
‘’Good morning to everyone. Except @Vodacom, I hope you’re having the worst of all days. ?’’

As usual, some South Africans brought out their best memes and quips for this battle, like the below;
Dear @MbalulaFikile , @Vodacom just stole my data & my airtime therefore I would like to open a case against them
