I blew it: Babes Wodumo opens up about wasting the ‘millions’ she made from Wololo

Many celebrities go from being rich and famous to being involved in lawsuits or spending sprees that trigger bankruptcy. One good example of that is Babes Wodumo, who recently opened up about blowing up ‘millions’ she made from her Wololo hit track.

The gqom artist was a guest on YouTube music show Podcast with MacG, where she spoke at great lengths about some of her biggest scandals; including her notorious party lifestyle, feuding with other celebrities and her bad attitude.

“I lived a life and f***ed up. I used to get drunk and it was fun… I was too full of myself, I was living life guys”, Babes can be heard saying in isiZulu.

The Wololo hitmaker – who labelled herself a “trouble child” – also discussed some of her biggest regrets…

“Mistakes such as not paying my dancers, and many other things like spending money.”

Asked what she spent her money on, the Durban star responded; “Weaves, alcohol, drinking with my friends.”

She continued; “When fame came to me I was still a child. I didn’t know much about saving, and when I look back there are many things that make me say, if fame came at the stage I am at now, there are many things I would have done differently.

Babes also made the astonishing claim that she made upwards of R150 000 per performance and would make ‘more than a million’ in a weekend

She also discussed missing meeting boyfriend Mampintsha after starring as a “video vixen”, and their upcoming wedding, which will be shown on their new Showmax reality show Uthando Lodumo.

The Durban star also referenced that Metro FM interview with Masechaba Ndlovu back in 2018, her ‘USB scandal’ and her alleged cocaine use.
