From Egg Hunts to Braais: Inside Easter Weekend with Mzansi’s Celebs

The Easter weekend may be behind us, but the memories are still fresh—long lunches, laughter, chocolate eggs, and moments that filled the heart. Mzansi’s most-loved personalities shared how they spent the long weekend, and what Easter means to them.

    Shaun Stylist – Musician

Shaun Stylist knows how to balance a packed schedule with quality family time. This Easter, he did just that. “I started the day with my son Maison’s first Easter egg hunt—it was such a special moment,” he shared.

After some family time and a hearty lunch, Shaun headed off to light up the stage with a few live performances. “It was amazing being part of people’s celebrations through music. Definitely a weekend to remember!”

Martin Bester – Jacaranda FM Host

Usually on-air or on-stage, Martin Bester chose to slow things down this Easter. “It reminded me to appreciate the simple joys—great food, laughter, and being present with the people I love,” he reflected.

Swapping studio time for family time, Martin embraced the Easter spirit with full plates and full hearts. “Chocolate eggs and chill was the vibe!”

Carol Ofori – Radio Personality & Author

For Carol Ofori, Easter is a sacred time to reset. This year, she whisked her family away for a relaxing Good Friday and Saturday getaway before returning home to Durban for Easter Sunday.

“It’s a time of spiritual significance for my family,” she said. “We honour it by being together and reflecting on what truly matters.”

2wo Bunnies – Amapiano DJ Duo

For the dynamic 2wo Bunnies, Easter weekend was all about music and moments. They dropped a signature mix inspired by the season and gathered their team for a feel-good Easter meal.

“We wrapped it all up with a fire set at Tempo in Sunninghill,” they shared. “Nothing beats good music, great vibes, and being surrounded by your people.”

Shandor Larenty – Content Creator & Conservationist

Shandor Larenty spent his Easter surrounded by both lions and loved ones. “Mornings were for the animals at the Lion & Safari Park, and evenings were for braais, hikes, and catching up with friends,” he said.

For someone who lives in the bush, Easter felt like just another beautiful extension of the peaceful lifestyle he already enjoys—only with a little extra chocolate.

Kim Jayde – Media Personality & Businesswoman

After a whirlwind few months of travel, Kim Jayde used the Easter weekend to recharge at home in Mzansi. “It wouldn’t be Easter without marshmallow eggs and pickled fish!” she laughed.

While her family celebrated in Zimbabwe, Kim spent Easter Sunday surrounded by close friends and homemade cooking. “It was a weekend full of love, laughter, and rest—exactly what I needed.”
