John Legend and Chrissy Teigen get matching tattoos in honour of their late son

John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen memorialized their late son Jack with a special tribute of matching tattoos. The couple, who lost their baby boy after 20 weeks of pregnancy, decided to get the matching tattoos of Jack’s name on their wrists.

Celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Winter, a.k.a. Winter Stone, recently took to his Instagram and posted photos of Teigen and Legend’s “Jack” tattoos, which were written in cursive script: “JACK @chrissyteigen @johnlegend My heart is with you, sending you all the love!”

Teigen, 34, first unveiled her new tattoo two days prior when she and The Voice coach, 41, were having a date night. She also revealed she was told she could have died during childbirth when she suffered her devastating pregnancy loss.

The “Sports Illustrated” model said: “I was previously on bedrest for over a month, just trying to get the little dude to 28 weeks, a ‘safer’ zone for the foetus. My doctors diagnosed me with partial placenta abruption. We monitored it very closely, hoping for things to heal and stop. In bed, I bled and bled, lightly but all day, changing my own diapers every couple of hours when the blood got uncomfortable to lay in. My bleeding was getting heavier and heavier. The fluid around Jack had become exceptionally low – he was barely able to float around. At some points, I swore it was so low I could lay on my back and feel his arms and legs from outside my belly.”

And last October, Teigen shared another Winter Stone creation on her left arm: the dates of her father Ron Teigen Sr., mother Vilailuck Teigen, husband Legend and their children’s birthdays in black ink.

Following the heart-breaking news of their baby Jack, Teigen, who was diagnosed with partial placenta abruption, wrote a heart-breaking essay about the difficult experience of losing her son and explained in the essay that she decided to open up about her experience “because I knew for me I needed to say something before I could move on from this and return back to life, so I truly thank you for allowing me to do so.”

“Jack will always be loved, explained to our kids as existing in the wind and trees and the butterflies they see,” she wrote.
