Kelly Khumalo boycotts the KwaZulu-Natal Entertainment awards

Although Kelly Khumalo is one of the nominees in the upcoming KwaZulu-Natal Entertainment Awards, the star made it clear that she wants nothing to do with them.

The songstress is nominated in the Best Female Artist category alongside musicians such as her sister Zandie Khumalo, Nomcebo Zikode, Zanda Zakuza, Babes Wodumo and Holly Rey, among others. The winner of the category will bag a trophy and R100 000.

While other artists are urging their fans to vote in their numbers, Kelly has decided to do the exact opposite. She told a fan on Twitter on Tuesday, 8 December not to waste her money by voting for her. The tweep had asked the singer if they should vote for the star or not. Kelly replied:

“Don’t waste your money there.”

Other tweeps took to Kelly Khumalo’s comment section to share that they’ve already voted for her. Kelly has one of the hottest songs in Mzansi currently titled Empini. The song is doing well on music streaming platforms and on radio stations but she doesn’t want people to vote for her to win in the KZN Entertainment Awards. The star did not give give any reason why her fans should not vote for her.
