#KhuneSignsForPirates gains momentum on Twitter!

South Africans woke up to Twitter trends list stating that Itumeleng Khune ‘signed for Orlando Pirates’ and it had us confused for a bit!

Kaizer Chiefs fans have nothing to worry about though because Khune is npt going anywhere…

No, Itumeleng Khune is not leaving Chiefs — at least not any time soon.

The train of thought behind it was to come up with the most ridiculous reasons describing why the 32-year-old would want to switch his allegiance and make the switch to the Soweto rivals.

This is not the first time rumours like this have circulated on social media, claiming that the Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is bowing out of Amakhosi. In March, Khune reassured fans that he was not joining rivals Pirates, saying he would retire at his current club.

One tweet read, “Khune says he felt betrayed by Akpeyi because he managed to save penalties more than him. He says he taught Akpeyi how to service the ball but Akpeyi now does it more than the master. So he doesn’t want any bad blood, that’s why he is leaving.”
