Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Joseph Shabalala dies

It is with great sadness to announce that Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder Joseph Shabalala has finally yielded his soul to its benevolent author.

The lead singer of the global iconic Grammy award-winning group was 78 years when he died on Tuesday morning after a long illness.

After five decades as an active musician, Shabalala announced his retirement in 2013.

Ladysmith Black Mamba has toured the world sharing the stage with global hitmakers.

The group has won five Grammy Awards.
