Young Boxers sad story touches Amanda Du-Ponts heart

It is true when they say ‘’what happens on screen, stays on screen,’’ as that is not reality but a message someone is trying to send to society about certain aspects in life. Amanda Du-Pont is better known as the crazy “Lelo” on SABC1 Skeem Saam. But is she really that crazy in real life?

Definitely a big fat NO! TV presenter and actress Amanda Du-Pont shared a very inspiring story with her fans after meeting a young boxer named Mika Lindemann who has been training at the Sandton Fight Club on a regular basis.

The young champ caught the eye of Du-Pont, who saw him training hard and passionately. Amazed at what she’s seeing, Du-Pont approached him to find out why he had started boxing at such an early age.

Lindemann then opened up to the actress, who wouldn’t anyways? The champ told a very sad story of how he had suffered a double loss after his father and grandfather bot passed away in a short period of six months.

This intrigued Du-Pont as she took this to social media (Instagram) saying that the spirit and dedication within the little champ has stirred her to find out more.

‘This kid has lost his father and grandfather in the space of six months… Instead of giving up of giving up on life and feeling sorry for himself he is becoming a dedicated boxer and all round fitness freak.. in this he has found healing.

‘This is a lesson to us as adults. Don’t let your pain destroy you, let it give you power to become stronger. God will only give you a burden you can handle.’’ How inspiring.
