We understand that the #Moreki trend in December really crippled a lot of our reader’s financial balance. Some parents wasted too much money in December being a #Moreki, their kids do not have pocket money or lunchboxes for school today. Thanks to a recipe that requires cheap, yet delicious ingredients, any parent can rock a mean lunchbox for their kids this January.
Here are the ingredients:
500 ml (2 c) barbecue sauce
60 ml (¼ c) brandy
6 chicken breast fillets, cut into pieces
salt and white pepper
2,5 ml (½ t) garlic powder
2,5 ml (½ t) onion powder
30 ml (2 T) paprika
30 ml (2 T) dark brown sugar
15 ml (1 T) smoked paprika
Serves: 6
Preparation: 15 min
Cooking: 20 min
Light the grill and heat to medium-high.
In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce and brandy. Mix well.
In a blender, combine the salt, white pepper, onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, dark brown sugar and smoked paprika. Pulse until completely smooth.
Put the chicken pieces in a bowl and then rub with the spices. Once well-coated, thread the chicken pieces onto skewers.
Braai the kebabs on the grill for about 5 minutes per side, or until nearly cooked through.
Brush the kebabs with the barbecue sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes on each side. Pack them nicely into your children’s lunchboxes and forget about December things!
