BET Award-winning artist Makhadzi has officially announced the first phase of her highly anticipated One Woman Show, themed Womandla! — a powerful celebration of women in music.
The first wave of the lineup features an all-female powerhouse of talent, including award-winning DJ and entrepreneur DJ Zinhle, Grammy Award-winning vocalist Nomcebo Zikode, fast-rising star MickeyBlack, a dynamic newcomer to watch Shandesh, and the ever-iconic Somizi Mhlongo, who will serve as the host for the event.
Makhadzi made the announcement with a heartfelt performance at a taxi rank in her hometown of Thohoyandou, Limpopo — the very spot where her music journey began. As a teen, she sang to commuters with just a speaker, a dream, and a deep belief in her voice. Today, that same voice is heard across the continent and beyond.
“I will never forget where I come from; that is why I chose to launch at home with the people who believed in me first,” Makhadzi said during the event.
She added, “The first phase introduces the strong, powerful women who inspire me. Only female artists — bold, powerful, and proudly African. This show is about honouring the voices that are shaping the future.”
Makhadzi’s goal is nothing short of historic: two stadium shows across two nights.
On December 20 at Makhuvha Stadium and December 21 at Rabali Stadium
Each stadium is expected to welcome over 30 000 fans, making this a landmark event not just for her, but for South African music as a whole.
“Hosting two nights at two stadiums is a symbol of how far we’ve come, and how much further we can go,” Makhadzi said.
