Shekhinah is Apple Music’s maximum streamed female artist in SA

Apple Music has shared a listing of the most streamed SA ladies artists on their platform, just in time for Women’s Day. At the top of the checklist is pop musician Shekhinah.

The Suited hitmaker has been one of the crucial beloved artists in the nation. She released her debut album, Rose Gold, in 2017. It was once a certified platinum in 2018.

Coming in at quantity two used to be Lady Zamar. Afro-soul singer Amanda Black took the eighth spot, while gospel artist Ntokozo Mbambo finished the top 10.

Female-centric playlists

Apple Music requested the women to curate their own unique female-centric playlists. Shekhinah mentioned her choice represented the places she had visited and her favourite moments. “Music is my first language, no matter where on this planet I’m.

I selected these songs to constitute all the places I Have been and favourite moments I’ve lived. Each one holds a unique position down reminiscence lane and each artist is a queen in their own method and space.” Lady Zamar mentioned the ladies on her playlist “formulated a great part of the conversations that finally led to me being the woman and artist that I’m today”.

“Each is unique and robust in image, voice, sound, and delivery of the message. These stellar artists embraced the duality of being a girl in the 21st century, having to paintings and still be feminine, sturdy and fragile at the exact same time.” According to Amanda, her playlist consisted of girls who had inspired her.

“This playlist is composed of women who have inspired me as a budding musician and also ladies who nonetheless encourage me now that I Am dwelling my dream, telling my tales via melodies.
