    2020 recap: Mzansi celebrities who made Mother’s Day special even under strict lockdown regulations

    Last year just before Mother’s Day, government imposed stricter regulations on large gatherings and transport. This made it harder for a lot of people to celebrate their mothers normally, except these celebrities.

    Social media was filled with many celebrities showing their appreciation to the women that birthed or raised them… even though we were all going through the most!

    Some celebrity moms such as Linda Mtoba were celebrating their first Mother’s Day.

    The actress shared an intimate moment between her and her daughter and shared what she is loving about being a mother.

    “Today is my very first Mother’s Day. There’s nothing I love more than being a mom. To have her in my arms is the most fulfilling feeling I’ve ever experienced,” shared Linda.

    Media personality Boity, who has an extremely close relationship with her mother Modiehi, which Mzansi was given an inside look into on their reality show Boity: Own Your Throne, wrote a special message on social media for the Queens who raised her.

    Actress Dineo Langa showed her mom some love on Instagram, by letting her know just how deep her love runs for the radio personality.

    “We’ve been the greatest duo since the day you decided that my soul would incarnate through you. My love for you runs deeper than you could ever imagine. Looking back on my life, you prophesied what my life would be like by naming me Dineo Naledi. I’m grateful for every light you’ve shown, every door you’ve opened and every lesson that taught me how to navigate this life thing,” shared Dineo.

    DJ Fresh also jumped in with an instagram picture alongside his mother and we have to admit, they look the same!

    Rapper Cassper Nyovest, who is very close with his mother also took to the platform to celebrate his mother with the caption:

    ”Happy Mother’s Day myh twin”

    Actress and presenter Jessica Nkosi didn’t hold back the love she has for her mother and also expressed her love during the day with a lengthy Insta post;

    ”Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom… I love you so much mama. And I can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done and all you are to me. Thank you for all your teachings… You are a Queen!!! My greatest inspiration ❤️”

    Thembi Seete shared a throwback of her and her mother at the spa and thanked her mother for all her blessings and thanked her for all she has done for her.

    Basetsana Kumalo who may be a mother to her own children but is also a mother to many Mzansi personalities and other young people she mentors.

    “Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful women who are raising a nation, world shakers and history makers. Women who are raising a child-headed household, women who are educating and supporting young people, women who are empowering other women, women who work at Early Childhood Development Centres, women who are on the frontline as health workers as we fight COVID-19., women who are sitting at old age homes,” shared the media personality

    We wonder how our faves will show their mothers love this year.
