Revival of the OGs: Kalawa Jazzmee reintroduces Trompies with a new album

Oskido’s Kalawa Jazmee Records has announced an upcoming album by celebrated group The Trompies. The group was active many years ago but is currently in decline.

Oskido announced the imminent album via the Instagram page of his record label yesterday 23 February. The reactions to the announcement was overwhelming, one of excitement. Apparently fans have been looking forward to something from the group for some time.

Trompies is a house and kwaito group comprising Mandla Mofokeng, Eugene Mthethwa, Jairus Nkwe, Mahoota, and Emmanuel Matsane.

It would be interesting to see what the group has been working on, especially in the time of coronavirus.

By the wat, one of the group’s members, Eugene Mthethwa, was in the news recently. The songster had chained himself to a table at the offices of the South African Musical Rights Organization (SAMRO), alleging he was unfairly treate by the eights body and denied royalties due him. He is seeking redress.

Well, whatever the group should eventually drop, we’re going to share it with y’all here. In order not to miss it, you might want to do the needful right away: follow our social media channels, subscribe to our newsfeed, and stay tuned for updates. Way to go!

Oskido’s Kalawa Jazmee record label confirms the signing of the Top 5 acts from Idols SA season 16.

We wonder how it feels to be one of the top 5 acts of the 16th season of the Idols SA contest right now. Imagine being part of Oskido’s record label, Kalawa Jazmee Records. That would definitely feel great.

The label announced last year that it had partnered with the singing TV show, Idols SA  to sign the winner of its 16th season. Zuma was announced winner at the end of the show. Now, the label has also confirmed the signing of the remaining 4 contestants.

The information was revealed in a statement shared to social media on Friday, February 5th. It states that Brandon Dhludhlu, Ndoni, Mr Music and Zanothando have all been signed to Kalawa Jazmee. It is certainly going to be a year of dishing hits for the label. We honestly can’t wait to see this happen.
