The impact of lockdown on the Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is felt as business disrupts at a scale and speed that is unprecedented. Many of the services offered by our industry have
sharply diminished or even halted, like the recent closure of Ticketpro Dome.
South Africans react to the closure of Ticketpro Dome, which has been of great benefits to the music industry over the years.
Taking to social media, it was announced that the place has been sold to Sasol Pension Fund, after 20 years fof operation
“It is with a heavy heart that RX Venue Management today announces that after 20 years of being the management company of South Africa’s largest multipurpose indoor arena, The Ticketpro Dome has now been sold by the owners, Sasol Pension Fund.”
The pandemic and ban of gathering has led the Dome to end of an era.
Cassper Nyovest, who sold out the venue, and plans of organizing another show there is heartbroken.
K Naomi, Major League DJz, Euphonik, Zakes Bantwini and many others have expressed their shock at the news.
