After taking a short break through quarantine, Lay Me Down hit maker Sam Smith is ready to return with some new music.
The British pop star took to social media to tease a brief clip of the upcoming track featuring the Nigerian singer. The collaboration comes after the “How Do You Sleep?” singer delayed the release of their album due to the coronavirus pandemic and decided to change the name of the LP.
“My Oasis” comes following Smith’s decision back in March to postpone and rename their third studio album. Originally titled To Die For and slated for a May 1 release, the singer revealed in an Instagram post that the timing and title of the album didn’t “feel right” to them, but promised fans that “I am still going to bring out some new music over the next few months.”
He explained: “It’s really deep into exploring my gender, exploring my queerness.
The news comes just over a year since the release of the song “How Do You Sleep?”, which was intended to appear on Smith’s postponed forthcoming album and it will be the third record in all following on from 2017’s The Thrill of It All.
Earlier this year, Smith claimed that, despite not getting tested, he “100 per cent” contracted coronavirus. His new album has been delayed due to Covid-19. It will be their third record in all following on from 2017’s The Thrill of It All.
