    Meet Khanye, the guitarist from Orange Farm with impeccable timing!

    When Khanye grabs a guitar, what happens next can only be described as the result of a pure talent doing what he was born to do. While he has the look of a protege who has been working at his craft for as long as he can remember, Khanye is a master of the guitar and his own brand working hard to get a breakthrough in the industry!

    Khanye might be well in his twenties, but his musical prowess has proven to be mature beyond his years. Let’s take a look at his bio below:

    Khanye De katarist is a South African rising star from the township of Orange farm. He is a phenomenal artist who plays both accoustic and lead guitar to different roaring crowds all across Mzansi.

    He is an exceptional taleted musician, a versatile guitarist, song writer, perfomer ,recording artist and a private guitar tutor. He holds a Diploma in Music performance.

    Growing up in a township notoriously known for gang violence and crime, Khanye decided to not yield his youth years into the life of gangs and crime, but pursure his love for music and arts.

    De Katarist was was taught to strum the guitar by Mr Vusi Nkadimeng and was later mentored by Kataki Thoka. At the age of 15 he started busking in trains to the City of Johannesburg with his fellow guitar mate Sifiso Jazzman Mabizela.

    They fastly gained recognition after doing cover songs of well known songs and artists. Khanye has shared the stage with music giants like Zakes Bantwini, Lira, the late Bra Hugh Masikela and Oliver Mtukudzi.

    In 2013, Khanye joined a local band called Shef and the Kitchen Music and jointly released an album called “The First Recipe” produced by Kune Ayo and Kabomo Vilakazi.

    Together with the band, Khanye graced various stages in and outside the country and also toured to Indian to share the African music touch on the IIT Madraas 2020 World Festival.

    In 2021 he was part of a production team for the South Africa Music Award nomimee for best new comer Azana on several songs that they later performed at Shina ngeWhite Star, Metro FM and Trace Studios.

    The young promising star is currently working on his solo career with The Influence Ep as his first project.

    With this project he aims to educate, influence and inspire his peer across the world.

    To promote his hot EP, Khanye has bought USB’s, branded and loaded them with his music. On this body of work, he has collaborated with influecial and well respected creatives like Vusinator, El Maestro, M-keyz to name of few. He also used the project as a platform for upcoming artist such as De Keay ,Nok’cula and Ghandi Da Sax. He introduced his sound with his debut single titled Khonalong hluphayo featuring Jozi-T and Mulo Cafe. The hit song is making airwaves on TV, radio,social media and all streaming platforms . The song got its first Radio airplay in UK. The video has been playing on Channel O, Trace, MTVBase and Soweto TV.
