South Africans call out Tyrese Gibson for reverse racism post

American  actor Tyrese Gibson found himself in hot water and trending on Black Twitter after a recent Instagram post of his went viral. He posted an image of ‘life in South Africa’ which portrayed white people of the country as slaves and servants he captioned it: “The flip..Get to YouTube this is what’s going on in South Africa..” The actor was referring to a YouTube video titled; ‘South Africa – Poor whites, rich blacks’. He took the post down but it was a little too late for that because South Africans had already seen and captured it.

South African TV personalities and musicians including Bonang, dineo Langa and Sho Madjozi, together with his fans and followers – particularly ones from SA – were shocked and disturbed by the post and immediately called him out on it.

In comments left under the post, Sho Madjozi asked: “Have you been hacked?”, whilst Thickleeyonce wrote; “Please stop spreading fake news. This is honestly so reckless and stupid. Do some research & educate yourself before posting fake news.” Duma Ntando did say too much as she simply wrote “FAKE NEWS” with a serious of SA flag emojis.

Dineo Langa joined queen B in taking this matter seriously and blocking the American star as she took to Twitter and wrote: “Everyone must report Tyrese‘s Insta post about South Africa and have his account taken down net vir daai rubbish”.

Tyrese did not really understand why he was being called out and also why South Africans took the post so literal. The country is still waiting for an apology because his explanation to the post did not seem to cut it and people on Twitter are not having it as they school him on how things really are in the country.
