In one of the most heartfelt moments of the evening, Naledi Aphiwe lit up the Metro FM Music Awards stage after winning Best African Pop Song for her breakout hit “Romeo & Juliet”, featuring Mawelele.
While the crowd waited in anticipation, Naledi appeared visibly nervous, her emotions written all over her face. As the tension peaked and the announcement came—“The winner for Best African Pop Song is… Naledi Aphiwe & Mawelele – Romeo & Juliet”—she couldn’t hold back.
She leapt from her seat, overcome with joy, as the crowd erupted in cheers.
