Bill Cosby announces plans to return to comedy in 2023

Speaking to a radio host Scott Spears, beleaguered comedian Bill Cosby has announced his plans to return to the stage.

Cosby says he plans to make his comeback to the comedy stage next year and that he has promised his fans the best of comedy.

The 85-year-old revealed his plans during a radio interview on WGH Talk with Spears and he didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’ when asked if he would return to comedy next year.

“When I come out of this, I feel that I will be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience knows me to be,” he said.

When asked if he would return to the stage in 2023, he responded: “Yes. Yes, because there’s so much fun to be had in this storytelling that I do. Years ago, maybe 10 years ago, I found it was better to say it after I write it.”

Andrew Wyatt, a representative for the comedian, recently confirmed to Variety that indeed he is “looking at spring/summer to start touring.”

Per Deadline, the embattled comedian’s last live stage appearance was part of the Far From Finished tour on 2 May 2015 in Atlanta.

Back in June last year, Cosby’s conviction relating to a sexual assault for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman 17 years ago was overturned.

He was released from prison after serving more than two years and in March this year, the US Supreme Court refused to revive the sexual assault case against him.

In June 2022, he lost a trial and was ordered to pay $500 000 in damages to a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in 1975.

Entertainment SA also reported that it doesn’t rain but pours for one of the world’s most popular celebrities, Cosby, who was found guilty of yet another sexual assault charge.

This comes after media reports surfaced that the former television personality sexually assaulted a young girl, Judy Huth in 1975.
